While setting up the studio, I (Fares) found myself missing some tools that I wasn’t able to find locally. This was a perfect opportunity to explore my woodworking skills and integrate the craft into my tailoring work. It also serves as an introduction the craft of tool making.

Sleeve Board

Walnut, Japanese Canvas, Wool wadding.
Hand made sleeveboard out of walnut, with a removable cover made out of Japanese canvas and layers or wool wadding.
 

Tailor’s Clapper

7” x 1.75” x 2”

Walnut.

Hand carved tailor’s clapper of a hand imprint as a handle for comfortable use contrasting the hard edges of the block.
 

Point Turner and Creaser

6” x 1.25” x 0.25”

Hand carved point turner and creaser, following an ergonomic design of the hand for a smooth grip.
